Golden Slippers Dance Academy was founded in 1979 in the Lynnhaven section of Virginia Beach VA. Now we have five beautiful locations. Our company is located within Lynnhaven at 2924 North Lynnhaven Road, in General Booth area at Red Mill Landing, in the Haygood at Haygood Road and Independance Blvd.. We are also based in Kempsville at Woods Shopping Center at Centerville and Kempsville Road. Our fifth location is within POricess Ann located at Salem Road and Lynnhaven Parkway.
The Studio boasts twelve fabulous instructors along with warm and friendly atmosphere. We offer ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, pointe and contemporary classes. Creative ballet/tap ,offered from 3-5 yr olds, was designed to teach basic technical skills inside of a light, fun manner. Your kids then graduate to barre (ballet/tap combination classes) then into hour specialty classes depending on their interest. The instruction is not only meant to teach, but to nurture each child to develop as individual dancers and have them enjoy their overall dance experience. We're proud to have been voted "Best of the Beach" Dance Studio GOLD Award for the past fifteen years successively! We also have the difference to be voted the "Best Small Business in Virginia Beach" by the Chamber of Commerce.
Our Recitals are regularly compared to Broadway Shows. Our annual shows are held at Chrysler Hall in Norfolk, VA that's one of the many finest venues in Virginia.

"Having been a musician the majority of my life and having occupied the orchestra pit during a few amateur productions, I understand the discipline and difficult work it takes to put together for a performance. It needs a dedicated staff in addition to students ready to devote hours of practice and parents who can make the necessary sacrifices.
Even the youngest children were well choreographed, taking direction from their leaders inside the orchestra pit. More than their skill level, which was impressive on its own, I appreciated the fact that kids were enjoying themselves.

They're learning discipline. They're becoming poised and developing stage presence.

These kids will do well in life simply because they're learning while very young should be done - one step each time." We also offer Jazzercise, Zumba Fitness and Toning, and Ballroom lessons for Adults. Irish step-dancing is likewise offered in our Lynnhaven Princess Anne, and Kempsville locations.
